Connections is Now Weekly!
PDMA is excited to announce that Connections newsletter will now be distributed weekly instead of monthly. This increase in frequency allows PDMA to better provide its community with timely messages in a digest-style format.
Moving Connections to a weekly cadence will provide several benefits. First, it will provide usable content for use on the job on a more frequent basis, keeping readers at the leading edge of the product development field in real time. Second, it will continue to consolidate mailings, keeping inboxes from overflowing, while ensuring each communication received from PDMA has relevant meaning and value for our readers. PDMA is committed to keeping its community informed of the industry and association news that enable them to succeed professionally. The PDMA Board of Directors Announces Peter Bradford, NPDP as the interim Vice President of Certification
Peter Bradford, NDPD will succeed Marian Herz as the Vice President of Certification. In 2012 Bradford served as a member of PDMA's Body of Knowledge Committee, which is revising its compendium of industry practices and serves as the basis for the New Product Development Professional industry certification. He brings a fresh perspective of PDMA's certification process and will complete the term through 2013.

Call for The PDMA ToolBook 4 Chapter Proposals
"Tools for Open Innovation: ToolBook 4 from the PDMA's New Product Development Series"
The PDMA is preparing to publish a fourth volume of its highly acclaimed ToolBook series, designed to give experienced product development professional cutting edge and usable approaches to improve their new product and innovation processes. This volume will provide in-depth, how-to knowledge on selected tools and techniques in the area of “Open Innovation” – a boundless approach to acquiring, developing, and applying ‘groundbreaking’ innovation.
The editors, Charles Noble, Serdar Durmusoglu and Abbie Griffin, now seek proposals for chapters to be included in this new compilation (targeted launch: fall 2014). The target market is both new and experienced product development and innovation professionals seeking to expand their Open Innovation (OI) thinking and tools. Given the rapidly changing nature of this area, this book is sure to provide fresh ideas for even the most advanced OI professional.

Sustainable New Product Development Process Survey
The Sustainable Innovation SIG encourages the PDMA community to participate in a study for a doctorate dissertation project titled as “Sustainable New Product Development Process” conducted by Anthony Di Benedetto, PhD, a faculty member at the Fox School of Business, Temple University, along with Ebru Genc, a PhD candidate at the Fox School of Business, Temple University. The objective of this study is to gain insights on how to incorporate sustainability into the new product development process in order to improve the performance of new products and contribute to the triple bottom-line. The survey will take approximately 10 minutes to complete.
Upon request, participants will be provided an executive summary of the results.
