Greetings!

Please keep the families of Baxter Springs in your thoughts and prayers as they and several communities in southeast Kansas recover from the storms of this past weekend.

Kansans are hardworking and generous people! We are reminded of this in every county and community we visit, and in the outpouring of support we see for others who need help.

On the campaign, Deb and I are so grateful for the many good Kansans who are stepping forward to participate, especially as we enter the late spring and summer campaign months leading up to the primary on August 5th. You are the best!

County GOP Visits

It is great to have the opportunity to visit GOP organizations across all regions of Kansas. We frequently visit County GOP meetings or their leaders in each congressional district. This month we attended the Eggs and Issues breakfast in Jefferson County, the Sedgwick County GOP meeting, the Riley County GOP meeting, the Olathe GOP meeting and others. Thanks to our supporters from all across Kansas!

Support from Agents and Advisers

The campaign is receiving support from insurance agents and financial advisers throughout Kansas. Health insurance agents, life insurance agents, property and casualty agents, and crop insurance agents, as well as credentialed financial advisers are reaching out to assist us. They know we understand both the technical aspects of insurance and the importance of providing a balanced approach to regulation. Thanks to all of you!

Republican Women's Clubs

Many of you know we are receiving wonderful support from members of Republican Women's Clubs. This month we had the opportunity to meet with the Leavenworth County Republican Women's Club and the Second District Republican Women at their annual meeting, as well as attend the Johnson County Republican Women's Brunch. We appreciate the many volunteers that have signed up to support our campaign following each of these meetings!

Candidate Forums

This month we shared our views in four candidate forums, including those sponsored by the Topeka Independent Business Association, the Wichita Association of Health Underwriters, the Riley County GOP, and the Kansas Conference of the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisers. We appreciate these opportunities to share our message of fiscal conservatism and how we will use my more than 30 years of directly relevant insurance and business experience to benefit Kansans.

IN THE COMMUNITY

"Serving All Kansans - Professionally and in the Community"

We have always, and will always, support many charitable and professional organizations across Kansas. I will become President of my Rotary Club in July  and Chair of the Educational Foundation of the Kansas Society of CPA's in November.

I continue to serve as a mentor to a KSU business school student, and on the Dean's Advisory Council for the KSU Business School.

Deb and I supported the Children's Place event earlier this month with good friends Brad and Patty Ives. We continue to serve on the Planning committee for the Shoot for the Cure for Cystic Fibrosis, to be held again this year in August in Lenexa (our 12th year!), and are supporting the inaugural Shoot for the Cure in Wichita, scheduled for October. Thanks to our many friends who are so deeply committed to important causes in the communities across Kansas!
