Greetings!

It was an outstanding August for the campaign, with visits to County GOP gatherings, campaign receptions, and all of the activities throughout Kansas that brought us together to focus on our great State .  It continues to be pleasure to connect with each of you!

We've recently enhanced our web site

www.KansansforSelzer.com to include a listing of upcoming events, to keep you informed about important campaign activities.  Please share our website with your family, friends and business associates.

Thank you to all the Kansans that have extended their hand to help with the campaign.  We so appreciate your help and support, and look forward to working closely with each of you over the forthcoming year!

Sedgwick County Republican Party Event

I attended the Sedgwick County GOP event in Wichita along with several campaign volunteer and Steering Committee members including Jennifer Szambecki and David Wallis.  It was great to meet so many folks from Sedgwick County and surrounding areas.

Linn County GOP Potluck Dinner

Kansas GOP Chair Kelly Arnold provided an overview of statewide GOP activities.  Deb and I met many good Republicans from Linn and Bourbon Counties.  We thoroughly enjoyed our visit.

Phillips County Big 1st GOP Picnic

We had a great time at the Phillips County GOP Picnic in Logan, which attracted elected officials and other party faithful from across the Big 1st Congressional District. Fantastic food, wonderful people, and excellent weather for this GOP gathering!

Governor Brownback Reception and Elephant Club Meeting

We have attended many functions throughout Kansas including an event for Governor Brownback this past week, with just an outstanding show of support for the Governor.

The Elephant Club meeting on August 20th was very informative. The speakers were members of the Kansas State House and they shared their thoughts on the past legislative session. Enjoyed making new friends and we had several individuals ask if they could help on our campaign. We appreciate every one!

"Shoot for the Cure"

In every newsletter we try to feature a community event where Deb and I are deeply involved.

Several weeks ago we Co-Chaired the "Shoot for the Cure" for Cystic Fibrosis (CF). Cystic Fibrosis is a disease that impacts my extended family. This was the 11th year that we have been involved with the event and are so thankful for the funds that are raised fund research to find a cure for CF.  Deb assisted with the dinner and auction on August 16, and I assisted with and participated in the Shooting event on August 17.

Our deep and heartfelt thanks to the record number of participants in this year's Shoot!
