Protect your 1:1 Computer Investment
If your district has recently invested in 1:1 technology, laptops, or other portable devices, protecting that investment is a key component to success. Districts can protect technology investments by using a laser engraver to engrave school logos, IDs, serial numbers or any other tracking system. Lasers are safe to use on materials used for tablets and laptops and other electronic devices for tracking and verification that won't peal or wear off.
Schools also use laser engravers for unique fundraising opportunities.
Laser engravers can pay for themselves within a year and provide positive revenue to the district. Schools can engrave glass, photo frames, trophies, awards, etc. with school logos or personalized messages. Fundraising becomes unique and personalized, and can integrate visual arts programs.

Are your Students Prepared for the Rigor of College Math Classes? Many students entering their first year of college arrive unprepared in mathematics and need to further develop their math literacy before taking required advanced mathematics. Pitsco Education's Developmental Math and Introductory Algebra curriculum builds success in math and keeps students on track to earning their degree.
- Builds mastery of basic math and algebraic concepts
- Includes small-group hands-on learning
- Offers individualized, prescribed instruction
- Integrates diagnostic, formative, and summative assessments
- Includes practice and mastery tests

The whole purpose of education is to turn mirrors into windows. ~Sydney J. Harris |
Technology is playing a larger role in how students learn -- both in and out of school -- according to educators in one Illinois school district. All students in District 67 have Google accounts, and some students are using Google Apps in the classroom. However, students with such accounts are kept safe, educators say, because their access is restricted and students can only e-mail people within their own school.
The more technology is integrated into the classroom, the more risk districts have. Protect the technology investment with TotalTech Education, round the clock service and support for districts tackling 1:1 initiatives.
Study: More time in algebra class equals future success Students who spent twice as much time learning algebra improved not only in math but also in verbal skills, according to a study of the Chicago Public Schools' double dose algebra program enacted in 2003. The program in which students enrolled in two algebra classes at the same time was designed to serve students who scored below average on national tests in eighth grade, Maureen Downey writes. Besides academic gains, students in the program graduated high school and attended college at a higher rate than similarly situated peers not enrolled the program, researchers found.
Math is the cornerstone of any education. If you are looking for ideas to excite and engage students in math class, while improving comprehension and retention while boosting test scores, attend the Math webinar February 21, Math or Something Like It. Click to register! |
