The purpose of their visit was to learn about the Excel schedule and the Math Academy program. We enjoyed our brief meeting with them and were happy they chose to visit us!

Counseling

Best Buddies is a non-profit organization established in 1989 by Anthony Kennedy Shriver to establish a global volunteer movement that creates opportunities for one-to-one friendships and leadership development for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. There is interest in starting a local chapter of this organization as a student club at Santa Cruz High.  Student leaders are being recruited to serve as mentors and organizers of a club to help plan activities. There will also be an opportunity to attend a training session at a week-long retreat. For more information please contact James Skolnik, dylnjer@msn.com, 515-2273, and attend the lunch time presentation in the counseling office on Tuesday, April 15th.

Cabrillo College Running Start

SCHS 12th graders who have registered for Running Start should be receiving emails from Cabrillo with important "to do" items and dates. It is best to fill out this application as soon as possible and must be filled out by April 18th. April 1st is also the first date students may apply for summer term if they plan to also take a class during summer.

Running Start students are also encouraged to attend an Ed Plan Workshop.  For more information and to reserve a spot see the Cabrillo College webpage www.cabrillo.edu/services/counseling
