Mark Your Calendars for Summer Fun in Seward County!

We have the pleasure of hosting the Lincoln Saltdogs in Seward County this week on Thursday, May 12. The exhibition baseball game will be held at 7 p.m. at the Plum Creek Memorial Field in Seward. If you haven't already purchased your tickets, they're still available for $12 per person at our office, Cattle National Bank & Trust, Jones National Bank & Trust, Union Bank & Trust and First Bank of Utica.

Did I mention that if you purchase a $12 ticket, you get a SECOND TICKET for NO EXTRA COST? The second ticket allows you to watch the Saltdogs play a regular season game at Haymarket Park in Lincoln on Sunday, June 19 at 5:05 p.m.? We will be celebrating Seward County Night at the Ballpark in Lincoln. This is a great opportunity to celebrate Father's Day and enjoy gathering with friends, family, and neighbors from Seward County.

There are many opportunities to celebrate all that Seward County has to offer this summer by scheduling visits to various community festivals taking place throughout this upcoming summer. To check out a list of upcoming events, please visit the Seward County Visitor's Committee website . You'll not want to miss out on Beaver Daze (Beaver Crossing), Cordova's Pigeon Races, Fourth of July in Seward, Milford Family Fun Days, Staplehurst's VFD Street Dance, Utica Heritage Days, Seward County Fair, and many more. Don't forget to invite family and friends to join you!

Please also mark your calendars for Tuesday, June 7 when we'll be highlighting the activities schedules of these various communities festivals during the Seward County Chamber & Development Partnership luncheon. More details will follow in an upcoming Weekly Update.

July 4th Kickoff Event Changes Format

american-flag-banner.jpg
The annual July 4 Kick Off Event will change their format and offer an evening Kick Off celebration to announce the 2016 July 4 schedule, present the July 4 Royalty and introduce the 2016 Seward County Community Service Award winner.  It will also feature a "sneak preview" of the new Nebraska National Guard Museum-admission is free and open to the public!  The Kick off celebration will be at 7:00 pm on Tuesday, June 7th at the new Nebraska National Guard Museum and feature a birthday celebration cake and punch party with special entertainment and special music.  Honored guests will be introduced and present remarks, along with some special reports presented by July 4 committee chairs!

This annual event to kick off the celebration was first created by the late Pat Dickinson-the Executive Secretary of the Seward Chamber of Commerce in the early 1970's in the form of a Kick Off Luncheon sponsored by the Seward Chamber to announce the July 4 schedule.  The format will change this year  to allow the many working volunteers and entire families to attend the evening event- who might not be able to attend during the work day.
