Education is a Pillar of Strength in Seward County

The leaders who developed the Seward County Vision Statement identified existing industries that are key economic drivers that will help move Seward County toward fulfilling the Vision by 2035. Education is one that serves Seward County as an existing pillar of strength for our local and regional economy. Did you know that six out of the fourteen largest employers in Seward County are educational institutions?

This week we have the opportunity to celebrate with two distinguished institutions of higher learning in Seward County. First, Southeast Community College's Milford Campus is celebrating their 75th anniversary. Please consider joining in their celebration this upcoming weekend for their anniversary open house activities in Milford. For more information, please visit: www.southeast.edu/milford75/ .

Concordia University - Nebraska (CUNE) is celebrating their baccalaureate service and graduation ceremony this upcoming weekend. This marks the 109th commencement ceremony at CUNE. For more details, please visit:
 www.cune.edu/etal/graduation-commencement/.

Please be ready to welcome guests and visitors who will be traveling to Seward County to celebrate these upcoming and exciting celebratory activities. This is an excellent opportunity to showcase what we have to offer for products, services, and quality of life.

We thank these two higher education institutions and the many other schools we're fortunate to have in Seward County for their investments in hiring employees and building/maintaining beautiful campuses. Most importantly, we're grateful for these schools educating our current and future workforce. Their efforts help make Seward County a great place to live, work, and play.

Their next fundraiser is their annual Dog Wash at Orscheln's on Saturday, June 11th.
