From Jonathan's Desk
Time for celebrating, training, and promoting...
On Tuesday, April 12, we celebrate 5-year increment business anniversaries from all over Seward County. Help us congratulate these companies who have been in business for 5, 50, or 125 years and everything in between (the event will be held at the Seward Civic Center at noon; please RSVP by 2:00 pm today to sewcham@sewardne.com if you'll be joining us for lunch). These businesses are the lifeblood of the Seward County economy. We're grateful for their many years of making significant investments in providing quality products, services, and jobs in Seward County.
On April 13-15, I have the opportunity to attend the Nebraska Economic Developers Association conference in South Sioux City, Nebraska. I'm excited to learn about best economic development practices from across Nebraska and bring back what I learn to Seward County.
On Tuesday, April 19, we're partnering with Southeast Community College (SCC) - Milford Campus during their Trades & Industry Career Fair (and business owners and managers from around Seward County as event speakers) to promote local employment opportunities. We'll have high school students participating from Centennial, Milford, and Seward Public Schools to learn about local job opportunities in the trades & industry and touring SCC - Milford Campus to learn about their training programs to prepare them for these types of careers.
