What makes Seward County's economy strong?

It's our existing businesses, entrepreneurs, and dedicated employees who strive for excellence to grow their companies every day. The Seward County Chamber & Development Partnership (SCCDP) wants to celebrate them every chance we get. On Tuesday, April 12 at noon at the Seward Civic Center, we are dedicating time to celebrate significant business anniversaries (for example, 5 or 25 or 125 years in business). Even if your company isn't celebrating a significant business anniversary this year, we encourage you to participate and congratulate your fellow Seward County companies on their exciting milestones. If you plan to attend and eat lunch, please RSVP via e-mail to sewcham@sewardne.com by Friday at 2:00 pm. A special lunch will be catered by Sparetime Lounge & Grill at a cost of $10 per person.

Another way our economy is kept strong is through our communities offering an exceptional quality of life in Seward County and encouraging their citizens to stay healthy. To encourage your own healthy living, please "Join us for the Memorial Health Care Systems 32nd Annual Health Fair held at the Ag Pavilion on the Seward County Fair Grounds the first Wednesday of April (Wednesday, April 6). Free and low cost health screenings including blood glucose, blood pressure, posture screens, BMI (Body Mass Index), Colorectal Kits, Pulmonary Function Testing, as well as wellness information with over 50 displayers".  For more information or to set up screenings at the Health Fair, please call Jane at 402-646-4626 or email jane.rehmer@mhcs.us. In partnership with the Seward County Visitor's Committee, the SCCDP will have a booth at the Health Fair where we'll be celebrating Seward County's quality of life offerings. Please stop by our booth and say, "Hello!"

Missoula Children's Theatre Workshop this Summer!

Looking for something fun and educational for your kids to do this summer?  Olde Glory Theatre, in conjunction with the Missoula Children's Theatre, will be sponsoring a Children's Theatre workshop this summer.

The Missoula Children's Theatre from Missoula, MT is coming to Seward the week of July 25th to conduct a workshop that will conclude with a production on Friday, July 29th of THE JUNGLE BOOK starring workshop participants!

The workshop is limited to 64 participants, Grades 1-8. Roles will be assigned on Monday morning. Workshop/rehearsal hours are 10:00 am to 4:30 pm with a 30-minute lunch break. Not all roles will rehearse both morning and afternoon sessions every day. A complete schedule will be distributed after roles are assigned. Those rehearsing both morning and afternoon need to bring a sack lunch. Lunch is provided before the afternoon dress rehearsal on Friday.

Monday and Tuesday the workshop will be held at Olde Glory. On Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, the workshop moves to Seward High School. The Friday night performance will be at the Seward High Auditorium starting at 7:00 pm and is open to the public.  Tickets will be $5 and available at the door.
