From Kathy's Desk
SAVE THE DATE: Planning is underway for the annual Chamber Extravaganza - Tuesday, January 19th, Harvest Hall, 5:30 p.m. Invitations will be mailed before Christmas!
Speaking of the Extravaganza, last year the first Allen Barghahn Customer Service Award was started and presented to Allen Barghahn. We are seeking nominations to recognize outstanding customer service in the Seward area. Customer service is a vital component of how those shopping for goods and services view our community; it is a huge factor when deciding where to spend money and time. So as you are out and about shopping this Christmas season, give thought to those who you feel deserve special recognition and consideration for this year's award, send their name and where they work, and why you feel they deserve this award to me (Kathy.Evert@sewardne.com) no later than January 5th. I am looking forward to receiving your nominations.
The Seward Area Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors appointed two directors to fill vacancies on the Board at their December 1st meeting. We are pleased to welcome Briianne Imig, Events Manager at Concordia University and Philip Friedrich, Financial Representative of Northwestern Mutual to the Board of Directors.

She was responsible for project management and testing of financial software. Briianne earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 2007. Briianne lives in Seward with her husband Brian, and their two children age 3 months and 3 years.
Philip Friedrich attended Seward High School and graduated from Concordia University with a B.S. in Business Administration. He played varsity basketball all four years, was the President of the business club and went on to get his MBA with a dual emphasis in Finance and Risk Management. He is a financial representative for Northwestern Mutual in Lincoln, NE, has clients in 21 different states and works with investments and insurance in the personal planning, business and estate planning.
