Are you looking for prospective new customers?  Did you know the Chamber is provided a list every month of newcomers to Seward and the list is available to Chamber members?  It is FREE and another benefit of your Chamber membership.  Call or email us if you would like your copy.

Speaking of newcomers, we have a partnership with Vikki Gremmel who publishes the Seward Newcomers booklet each year.  As a newcomer, I have to say the booklet is a great resource. I have used it several times already and we use it in the office to help find answers to questions we receive by phone on any given day!  As a Chamber member, you receive a 10% discount on advertising in the Seward Newcomers booklet.  We encourage you to consider being a part of the 2016 booklet when Vikki contacts you or let her know you want to be included.  She can be reached at Vikki.gremel@gmail.com or 643.2299.

The Chamber Board of Directors has met twice this month; several things on their plate.  We have planned for and invited eight (8) boards of directors to meet jointly later this month to talk about the future of the Seward area and how we can accomplish more by working together.  The organizations invited are:  Seward Area Development Corp., Seward County Economic Development Corp., Seward County Housing Development Corp., Seward County Visitors Committee, Milford Community Chamber of Commerce, Utica Commercial Club, and  Seward Area Arts Council.  We will keep you posted as these meetings take place and determine a future direction.

The Chamber Board of Directors did take action this week and provided the Chamber's support for the City of Seward to acquire the assets of the Seward Country Club.  The Chamber represents over 200 businesses in the area and advances the business, professional, civic and cultural interests of the area.  The Board felt having a viable golf course in the community is an important and necessary amenity for residents of all ages and for prospective residents, businesses and industries.    If you have any questions, feel free to contact me at any time.

Have a great weekend,

Kathy

September 16 & 23, 5-7 pm

Volunteers will be out in The Cattle Bank parking lot the next two Wednesday evenings cooking up some delicious hamburgers to raise money for updates to this year's  Winter Wonderland.  This is the 5th year for the Winter Wonderland and it just keeps getting better every year!  Located on the west side of the Seward Physical Therapy building at 418 Seward Street, the Winter Wonderland has various interactive displays including a model train.  This year's displays will feature Favorite Christmas Stories.

Seward Bowls for Brain Injury
Sunday, Sept. 27, 1:00 p.m. at Seward Bowl

Help raise money to implement brain injury programs in Nebraska, while paying tribute to those families who live with the effects of brain injury every day.  Donations raised through Bowling for Brain Injury stay in Nebraska to educate and assist persons with brain injuries, their family and caregivers, and the professionals who work with them.

Many families in the Seward area are living with the daily challenges of brain injury. Brain injury is a lasting challenge. It doesn't become less complicated with time, but more complicated. When a person leaves the hospital or rehabilitation after a brain injury, they turn to the Brain Injury Association of Nebraska for resources to help give people with brain injuries a chance to rebuild their lives; to restore purposeful living and to rebuild hope and optimism. No family should have to face the challenges associated with a brain injury alone.
