Seward App

A group of the Board members met to discuss information given to them regarding a new "App" that might be developed specifically for Seward.  This was presented by Travis Hollman from Kearney.  They have developed one for Kearney and it has been successful in their community.

The percentage of downloads in Kearney was at 10%.   The group was concerned as to how to get people to actually download it in Seward.

While recognizing this as a good and viable method of communication, the group was concerned about the manpower and dedication it would take to make this successful.  At this time, it doesn't appear we have the resources, especially with the personnel changes in the office.    We will continue to explore options with our community partners.

This information is being shared with the Seward County Visitors Committee.

Office Hours on July 3rd

The office will be open from 8:30 am - 12:30 pm on Friday, July 3rd.

Upcoming Events at the Airport

July 4 - Air Show at 11:00 am

August 28, 29, 30 - Nebraska Antique Aircraft Association Fly-In

Nebraska is hosting a fly-in and inviting people from Nebraska and other states to fly-in to Seward before the national event in Iowa the following weekend.  This is an all day event with no schedule.  They also hope to have an antique tractor display and a car club out of Topeka, KS display their cars.

Saturday and Sunday breakfasts and evening meals will be at the airport.  They will be on their own for the noon meal.

Let It Snow!

Some of the retailers in town are looking into a "Let It Snow" promotion.  Insurance is purchased for the chance of it snowing a certain amount on a certain day in January.  If it snows on that day, any shoppers who saved their receipts from the participating businesses during the Christmas shopping season in Seward, will get reimbursed!

If you are interested in participating in this promotion, please contact the Chamber Office at 402.643.4189.

Winter Wonderland

What is Your Favorite Christmas Story?  The theme for the 2015 Seward Christmas Festival, it's 5th Anniversary this year, is "Favorite Christmas Stories".  We'd like to know YOUR favorites.  We will take the top three favorites from books, TV, or movies and incorporate them into the Winter Wonderland display opening Thanksgiving weekend at 418 Seward Street next to Seward Physical Therapy.

Email your favorites to us at [email protected] by Friday, July 10th.
Seward Gift Certificates

Effective June 15, 2015, merchants will no longer be able to include Seward Gift Certificates with their regular deposits at the bank.  THESE CERTIFICATES ARE STILL GOOD, but they must be exchanged for the Chamber Bucks that are encoded with account information.  Certificate holders or merchants may bring Seward Gift Certificates into the Chamber office at any time to be exchanged for Seward Bucks.
