Hello All-
Since the last bi-weekly, Mayor Eickmeier and I attended the Governor's proclamation ceremony at the Capital where Seward was named Nebraska's Hometown Christmas City for 2014; we enjoyed the inaugural Seward Home-based Business Show; and have been working diligently on preparations for the upcoming holiday festivities.
Important November Dates:
Wednesday, November 19, is the Early Registration Deadline for Parade Applications. Late registration rates apply after this date. If you don't have time to construct your own entry but would like to support the efforts and promote your business, give me a call about sponsoring one of the Chamber-owned floats.
Saturday, November 22, Local merchants invite you to shop Seward Small Business Saturday. Pick up a canvas shopping bag at participating merchants and bring that bag back throughout the holiday shopping season to show your support for our independent retailers.
Wednesday, November 26 is Gingerbread House Contest Judging. Plan now to enter your structure. This year's theme: There's No Place Like Home. What Seward area landmark can you recreate?
Saturday, November 29, is National Small Business Saturday and also brings our Christmas Festival-10 am: Santa arrives, live reindeer, fruitcake toss, and reindeer games on the square. Winter Wonderland opens at 418 Seward St. 2-4 pm: Wagon Rides (this year we will have 2 wagons to better keep up with demand) and Family Fun (crafts, treats, musical entertainment) at Olde Glory, 4th & Jackson. 4pm Story Time at Chapters. 5:30 pm: Lighted Parade downtown.
