Today, the Ambassadors and I greeted public school staff as they came together for their beginning of the year meeting. Tomorrow, we greet the Concordia Staff. Thanks to our back to school sponsors, Grace Minto LLC, The Cattle National Bank and Trust Company and Zabka Funeral Home. Through their generosity, we have been able to contribute to the breakfasts for these dedicated educators!
I am looking forward to tomorrow's lunch and learn in cooperation with Seward County Economic Development on marketing your main street business in a dot com world featuring Colby Angst from Play Creative in Lincoln. Play Creative is a design studio that focuses on dynamic and eye-catching marketing pieces that deliver results. We'll also have information from our local printers, Helmink Printing and Graphic Design and the Seward County Independent. We'll be meeting in the East Civic Center Basement at noon. If you forgot to call in your meal reservation, please do so right away! Sparetime will be catering their fabulous brisket; $10 per person payable to the Chamber at the door. Save the date for our September 9th luncheon as well; we will be discussing the latest healthcare issues.
We had a ton of fun with Diving for Ducks and the Duck Race this weekend. No one won the car this year, but there were many great prizes. Thanks to our event sponsors, prize donors, those who bought tickets, and Dr. Jordan Folkers and all the other volunteers!
Thanks to our major donors for Olde Glory. We are moving closer to the fire sprinkler system for the building. We have approximately 2/3 of the money we need to begin sprinkler project. If you have been thinking about donating, now is the perfect time to add your name to the list below!
