The hiring committee has narrowed down the search to five candidates and are currently in the interview process. They expect to make a selection sometime within the next week.

Independence Landing Open House and Groundbreaking June 1, 11 a.m. - 1 p.m.
You are cordially invited to attend the Seward County Bridges Independence Landing open house and groundbreaking at the City of Seward fishing pond. Lunch and soft drinks will be served between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. with the ceremony beginning at noon.
The event is in conjunction with the Seward Youth Community Club Annual Fishing Contest that begins at 9 a.m.

Meeting Highlights
First Impressions Meeting - May 10
- Reviewed results of the DEA National Prescription Drug Takeback Day and the Seward Spring Cleanup.
- Discussed plans to make a few downtown improvements such as curtains in the second floor windows and decorating empty building spaces for July Fourth. Also want to check with the Main Street program to see if it is still available to provide technical assistance for improvement projects.
- Discussed cost effectiveness of spending funds on a building to house the Christmas floats. Tabled for future meeting.
- Reported on potential site for Seward sign.
- Will review strategic planning session results at the next meeting and talk about a field trip to other communities.
