Meeting Highlights
Board of Directors Meeting - May 7
- Reviewed financials. We have a budget and are on track, maybe a little ahead of last year.
- Scott Willet gave a report on the Spring Cleanup. We had 149 vehicles come through and collected 11,467 lbs. of electronics. It is a good service and something that is needed, but it's not free and grants are getting harder to get.
- Charles explained what is happening with LB840 and the Vote All 3 Yes promotion. It was suggested that we let people know that it is an existing program that Seward has been a part of for 10 years and it expired in March so we want to renew. The second part of it is a sales tax increase and the third is to allow $75,000 to be added on to the current $75,000 to bring us up to $150,000 in the fund.
- We are getting applications in for Chamber Director.
- Dennis Kahl reported on the Leadership program. The graduates will be honored Tuesday, May 14th at the Membership Luncheon.
- Nancy Dolezal and Cheryl Gerdes have stepped forward to co-chair the Ambassadors. They are working with the Chamber staff on the Ambassador values and what their goals should be.
- The fundraising events were reviewed. It was decided that we continue with the Duck Race, but we need to recruit new committee members to replace those that have resigned.
