It was wonderful to see our Southern California alumni and their families at the Notre Dame game on September 12 in Sherman Oaks. About 200 Serra fans came out to support our Padres, and it was a great time for all.
The Serra Homecoming Game and Tri-School Barbecue is a week away! The barbecue will kick off at 5:30 p.m. on the baseball field. I hope to see many of you that night, when the varsity football team will take on Saint Ignatius on Friday, October 10.
The next day, October 11, is our Hall of Fame Banquet. Please join me as we honor some exceptional athletes - it's sure to be a memorable evening.
Hope to see you on campus next weekend. Go Padres!
Sincerely,
Bob Greene, Jr. '85 Alumni Director

Padres Travel to Sherman Oaks
|
On a warm Friday night, hundreds of Padre fans gathered in Southern California on September 12 to watch the Padres take on Notre Dame of Sherman Oaks. Alumni and their families talked about old times and swapped Serra stories.
"It was great to visit Southern California," said Alumni Director Bob Greene '85. "The Padre pride is as strong in Southern California as it is at Serra. It doesn't matter how many years go by - we are all Padres. It was awesome to cheer on our varsity football players like the old days." |

| Tri-School Students Make a Difference |
Twenty-six Serra Padres, 80 NDB students and 20 Mercy girls walked 4.5 miles to support Catholic Worker Hospitality House on September 13. Cars honked in support, as Tri-School students waved signs for Catholic Worker.
"It was really fun to interact with people on the streets and meet new friends," said Serra freshman Miguel Amaral. "Getting feedback from people honking at us as we held our signs felt amazing. I consider doing any service for the community a good thing. Whenever I have free time, I enjoy doing any type of service to help those in need."
The Walk for Catholic Worker raised awareness and money for the Catholic Worker houses in San Bruno and Half Moon Bay. Serra raised $755, NDB raised more than $3,200 and Mercy raised $755. The students also held a sock drive. More than 150 pairs of socks were collected for the guests of the Catholic Worker House.
