The new school year is off to a great start with our 900 Padres! It should be an exciting year in the classrooms, on the fields, in the theater and in the pool.

 Serra football kicks off this Saturday, September 7, at Serra. Come and support the Padres as they play nationally-ranked De La Salle at 1 p.m.
The varsity water polo team's first game will be held at 4:30 p.m. on September 6 at Serra. The Padres will compete against Carlmont High School.
The Serra Cross Country Team will compete in the Lowell Invitational on September 14 at Lowell High School in San Francisco.

REUNION IS NOW OPEN!
This year's Homecoming barbecue and night football game will be held on Friday, October 11.
The reunion for Classes of '52, '53, '62, '63, '72, '73, '82, '83, '87, '88, '92, '93, '02 and '03 will be held on Saturday, October 12.

| Fr. Jack Kavanaugh Passes Away |
 Fr. Jack Kavanaugh, who taught Latin at Serra during the 1950s and '60s, passed away after a brief illness on June 28. He was 88 years old.
Fr. Jack's family wishes to thank those who traveled to attend his funeral, and who wrote heartfelt notes about how he touched their lives. As a tribute to Fr. Jack's affection for Serra High School and his commitment to Catholic education, his family has established the Fr. Jack Kavanaugh Endowed Scholarship Fund in his name. If you are interested in making a donation in memory of Fr. Jack, please send your contribution to Serra. The family will match donations, which effectively doubles your gift, until the $25,000 sustainable fund is met. Thank you in advance for your generosity.
