Father Joe Bradley '73 Publishes His First Book

In November, Serra Chaplain Father Joe Bradley '73 published his first book, The Four Gifts: How One Priest Received a Second, Third and Fourth Chance at Life.

It is a gripping story of faith, perseverance and soul-searching courage. Father Joe's honest biography is sure to inspire and comfort those suffering from illness, despair and addiction.

Alumni Spotlight
Lynn Swann '70 Honored at Serra
NFL Hall-of-Famer Lynn Swann '70 was honored at his alma mater on December 14 by the Hometown Hall of Famers program, sponsored by the Pro Football Hall of Fame and Allstate. The charismatic Swann talked about his career, the importance of giving back, and how Serra shaped his life. He was joined by his parents, godparents and friends.

"This is the foundation you will take with you to college," Swann said. "If you don't have that foundation to make good decisions, you can lose your way. You are getting the best education here at Serra."

Serra alumnus Rick Pouliot '73 remembered Swann as a high school student. "What a good guy," he recounted. "Lynn was very friendly and always took time for people. He always treated people very well, and I always rooted for him even before he became famous!"

Michael Trucco '88 on Hit Show Revenge
With its sinister plots in the Hamptons and constant twists and turns, it's no wonder Revenge has a cult following at the moment. Michael Trucco '88 is playing bad guy Nate Ryan, and it has been a blast so far. Before Revenge, Trucco guest starred on six episodes of How I Met Your Mother and also appeared on
The Big Bang Theory.
DeLeon Eskridge '08 Helps Spartans Win Military Bowl

DeLeon Eskridge '08 provided the insurance the Spartans needed with his one-yard touchdown run to help San Jose State win the Military Bowl in a 29-20 victory. San Jose State quarterback David Fales completed 33-of 43-passes for 395 yards and two touchdowns as No. 24 San Jose State completed a comeback season.

The Spartans finished 11-2 and are in the national rankings for the first time since 1975. They capped the year with a seven-game winning streak for their first 11-win season since 1940, a remarkable turnaround for a program that was 1-12 just two years ago and led Colorado to hire away coach Mike MacIntyre earlier this month.
