Agency Spotlight

With a new year comes new ideas and the opportunity to reinvent yourself. Healthy Woman is doing just that by transforming itself into a new program called Healthy Communities.  Why Healthy Communities?

Northeast Regional Medical Center wants to offer a program that is all inclusive - everyone feels welcome to attend.  We will still offer programs that are of interest to women but expand our topics to include the community as a whole.

Missouri Professional and Practical Nursing Student Loan Program
doctors-nurses.jpg
The State of Missouri offers a one-of-a-kind program to help students pay for nursing school.

This program is unique-- recipients may re-pay the loan with
either  forgiveness -or- cash repayment (which includes a high interest rate).

Loan forgiveness is easy to achieve! Once accepted into the program, simply provide nursing services at any hospital in Missouri or in any facility located in an area of need as defined by the Department of Health and Senior Services. Loans are forgiven year-for-year of service.

Primary Care Resource Initiative for Missouri (PRIMO)

Missouri students interested in becoming a primary care physician or dentist, dental hygienist, psychologist or psychiatrist should consider joining PRIMO, which

  • Encourages students to join medical professions
  • Guides through academic preparation
  • Provides financial assistance for post-secondary schooling and residency programs

PRIMO recognizes that persons raised in underserved areas are far more likely to return to these familiar suroundings and estabilsh life long careers as health professionals. The program was developed to address the shortage of primary health care providers with this in mind.
