Everett High School's walking class proud of volunteer work

Noticing the beautiful flower beds at Clark Park, Bayside  Park and Grand Park? Everett High's walking class plants and maintains those garden beds every spring.
 
"The kids are great," says teacher Jo M. Levin, who is proud to recognize her students' volunteer work in the community.

Free summer meals for children ages 1-18 begin July 5
 

Everett Public School's Food and Nutrition Department offers free meals at selected locations.

Calling all parents of elementary students to Make Math Count

To help parents support math learning this summer, Everett Public Schools is providing elementary math summer calendars.There is a different activity for each day. Have fun with math and see math throughout your day.
Energy Matters to Evergreen Middle School students

Fluke Corporation's staff welcomed about 300 Evergreen students June 14. This large-scale field trip is the culmination of students' long-term Energy Matters project. The project is the result of a partnership between Everett Public Schools and Washington Green Schools.

"Mr. Everything" at Everett High School retires after 43 years!

Roger Haug spent the last years of his career at Cascade High School, but that doesn't change how generations of students and many colleagues will always know him - as an Everett High Seagull who bleeds blue and gold.

Haug, 65, retired June 22 after 43 years of teaching and coaching in the Everett district, most of that time at Everett High. He coached football 43 years, basketball for 38 years, track and field for a decade, and softball for a year. Read full Herald article.

Teens can make a difference with ambassador program

Sno-Isle Libraries has volunteer opportunities for 14- to 18-year-olds looking to make a difference in their communities.

"It's called the 'Teen Ambassador' program," said Dawn Rutherford, teen-services coordinator for the library district. "We're looking for a variety of personalities and interests, but the common denominator will be teens who want to help and communicate with others." Get more details here.

Strategic Plan End-of-Year Progress Update
The school board regularly reviews its strategic plan and district Annual Operating Plan (AOP) each year to measure the district's work and continuous improvement.
Adoption of 2016-17 Operating Budget
The board accepted the Fiscal Advisory Council's report and conducted the first reading of Resolution 1135, Adoption of the Operating Budget for Fiscal Year 2016-17, at its June 21 meeting.
