  • Jean Simmons of North Middle School is the best kitchen manager in the state!
  • Wayne Thomasson of Eisenhower saved a student's life!
  • Tony Wentworth is a regional Distinguished Principal!
  • Garry Larson is an EHS GEAR UP Champion and going to Washington D.C. this summer!
  • Rose Margaretich is 100 years old this month and graduated from EHS in 1934!
  • Margarita Hurtado's CHS students, Donna Trejo, Sandra Isabel Rojas, and Steven Bishop won state honors for their Spanish language essays! 
They are all being honored at the April 19 school board meeting in the CRC at 4:30. There is even cake to help Rose celebrate her birthday. Come cheer!
Yo escribe en español in its 18th year, encourages Spanish literacy. Three students in Margarita Hurtado's AP Spanish class have earned top awards in the 18th annual Yo escribe en espa�ol literary contest.

Question: How long have you been at Sequoia?
Answer: Since the middle of my freshman year. I'm definitely not a fan of huge schools. This small place has been a really good thing.

Look who's part of the Innovation Expo!

June 6, 5 - 8 p.m. at Xfinity Arena

UW's Professor Brian Fabien has one of the coolest jobs ever!

As part of his work in the University of Washington's Mechanical Engineering Department, he oversees UW
's EcoCar3 project.

His students are competing with others around the country in the Advanced Vehicle Competition to transform a Chevrolet Camaro into an advanced hybrid vehicle. Professor Fabien's team began disassembling their car last fall. He'll talk about his work and the importance of innovation in today's teaching and learning at the Innovation Expo.

You will also see demonstrations of student and teacher innovation projects and get "hands on" with projects and demonstrations by local, innovative industries.

Ask your science teachers about the science competition in preparation for the Expo!

So many people to celebrate -- a teacher who saved a boy's life; the "best" kitchen manager in the state -- even the birthday of a 100-year-old Everett High School graduate. Six people being honored and thanked by the board.
Annual operating plan update


The district's five priorities are:
  1. Teaching and learning
  2. Inspiration, innovation and information
  3. People, structures and systems
  4. Resource management
  5. Strategic relationships

The board identified these as the priorities in the strategic plan and reviews the plan and progress on that plan each year to measure the district's work and continuous improvement.
