Common Core State Standards (CCSS) -- an update on math curriculum
The district math team will review for the board how CCSS are infused in math instruction. The team will also summarize current challenges and the work being done to meet those challenges
Elementary boundary revisions
Because of rapid student enrollment growth in the district's southern portion, boundary adjustments are proposed to relieve overcrowding at Woodside Elementary. The board will review information from public processes about such revisions and consider approving boundary changes for fall 2015.

More information is online.
Capital planning update
Bond proposals presented to voters in February and April 2014 each met with 58% approval -- below the 60% super majority required in Washington state to build classrooms.

In the meantime, enrollment has continued to climb; class size reductions may be mandated for grades K-3, and there is need for more full day kindergarten classrooms. The district will place 16 new portable classrooms on school sites for fall 2015. This brings the number of portables on the district's 26 school sites to 90.

Work and public process to prepare the 2014 bond proposals began in August 2011; enrollment studies and facilities needs studies have continued in the time since they were proposed in 2014.

On March 24, staff will provide the board with an update on facilities, enrollment and work of the Capital Facilities Advisory Council -- all to provide the board with information it can use to determine when or if to present another capital ballot issue to the voters.

Past board presentations and details about capital facilities planning is online.
