Middle and high school Social Studies materials review
Open houses on Feb. 26 and March 3, 3 to 7 p.m.

Starting in September 2015, sixth- through twelfth-grade students and their teachers in Everett Public Schools will use newly-selected Social Studies instructional materials.

Since October, the Secondary Social Studies Adoption Team has been studying the Washington State Social Studies Standards and the Common Core State Standards for History and Social Studies. They have analyzed materials for how well they support teaching and learning the state standards.

Now the team is ready to see what you think, on Thursday, Feb. 26, 2015, at North Middle School and again on Tuesday, March 3, 2015, at Lively Center -- both days from 3-7 p.m. Students, families, staff and community members interested in secondary social studies can explore what is being considered for classrooms next school year. The adoption team encourages attendees to leave written comments and questions about the materials.
