State law requires that districts present the next school year budget for review by July 10 each year and approve that budget by Aug. 31 each year.

At this meeting the board will review all budget-development work up to this point and the budget proposal for the district's general fund, transportation vehicle fund, capital project fund, debt service fund and associated student body fund.

Developing the 2014-15 budget began a year ago. In that time, the board has reviewed budget materials at 17 different open meetings. Those dates are listed with this agenda item in the July 1 meeting agenda materials.

The board will hold second reading and a public hearing on the budget during its regularly scheduled meeting Aug. 26.
