Board Meeting Notice

The school board will meet in regular session on Tuesday, June 24, 2014 beginning at 4:30 p.m. in the board room at the Community Resource Center.

3900 Broadway

Everett, WA  98201

Agenda highlights

Summer school
Students from preschool all the way through high school have options for summer school programs. These range from open libraries to math and reading support to high school credit classes. Students have options for traditional and online courses and chances to recover high school credit.
McKinney-Vento
The intent of this federal law is to provide consistent school experiences for students who are homeless. So far this year, the district has supported more than 900 homeless students. Incidents of homelessness exist in every one of the district's 26 schools. The district partners with other school districts to reduce McKinney-Vento transportation costs. However, this under-funded federal mandate has cost more than $800,000 this year.
Elementary reading progress
For the third time this year, the board is reviewing reading achievement data to document how well Good Habits Great Readers is working to improve students' reading skills.

You can find the agenda and other board materials online in BoardDocs.
