The Autumn Edition
It's Official! Autumn IS my favorite time of year.

Who could possibly deny the charms of Autumn? The crisp morning air, the dramatically changing colours, the gorgeous tastes and textures, the CRUNCH underfoot, conkers, the farmers in their tractors hauling their harvest around the villages - with content looks on their faces. I love it!

What about you? What do you most enjoy about the Autumn?
Autumn Retreat- 8-10 November 2013
With the theme Dream, Believe, Act, this inspiring Autumn Retreat will help you turn your dream into actionable next steps, and therefore your reality. We bring coaching resources and creative activities to your support, building confidence, and creating a powerful network to help you move forward. For more information . . .  - and contact me for my special offer for Roots and Wings Readers.
I'm particularly proud this Autumn to have a full programme of workshops - from the Transitions Series of mini-workshops, to Dream, Believe, Act short workshops, to another of the popular Beyond the Juggling Act and another Coach Your Kids. Check out the dates on this sheet, and let me know which one you'd like to attend.

A coaching workshop gives you access to a coach and the shared experience of working in a group - both valuable in themselves. Why not try one this Autumn?
What is it about the Autumn?

It's a time of great change and transition as the countryside around us prepares for winter. We can see this as a negative thing - trees losing their leaves, animals hibernating, fields being cleared. Or we can see this as a wonderful time of harvesting, gathering in, prioritising, preparing, conserving energy.

And it doesn't matter how we see it, Autumn will always continue to sweep the land with its kaleidoscope fingers and send its warrior winds to shake down every last leaf. And it's all in a great cause!

Renewal.

When we are in transition ourselves, we can focus on either the negative or the positive, and, more realistically, flipping between the two - until something happens and you find yourself suddenly bewitched by the rich tapesty of colours rather than the lonely leaves dancing to the ground. You relish the evenings in and stop mourning the late nights on the balcony. You smile as you notice the massive piles of pumpkins declaring "you're OK, you're going to make it" - and forget all about the unpredictable weather and piles of leaves blocking up your drains. We move towards the more resourceful state of renewal.

The Autumns of your transitions mean that you too may need to let something go in order to conserve energy while you prioritise more essential functions and move towards renewal. That you need to consolidate and tidy away for a new phase. The Autumns of your transitions may mean that you look for ways to start harvesting the benefits of the work you've been putting in.

As parents, we have lots of "Autumns" with our children. Periods where we let go a little - and sometimes a lot. Times where there are turbulent winds, shaking things out. Seasons of colour, texture, sounds to be enjoyed - not endured. A time when you gather all in and protect your harvest! In your relationships with your children, what do you focus on? The loss of the way it used to be - or the opportunity for renewal, for a new way of being.

You choose.

Thank you for your continued support for my work at Alive to Change. It is always a pleasure to write Roots and Wings - and I'm getting the feedback that you enjoy reading it too. Please could you help me by forwarding this to friends who might be new here, or new to my work.

If anyone needs help choosing their perspective in a transition, or in any other aspect of their parenting, work or home life, please consider my coaching as a positive and practical means of support. All exploratory sessions are free - so if you're curious or keen, just get in touch! kirstin@alivetochange.com.

The biggest thing I need help with right now is to fill our Autumn Retreat with Dreamers. If you know anyone out there who could really use this kind of powerful experience right now, please let them know about it. Just forward this newsletter. If you are curious and want to know more, please just contact me - I can share more information and answer any questions.

I'd also love to fill my other workshops this Autumn - so if you know of newcomers (or not so newcomers!) who'd appreciate the transitions series, do pass on the information to them.

I wish you all a crunchy, kaleidescope Autumn!

One of my dreams came true in September - here I am signing my coaching workbook Dare to Dream, at the Launch of a new joint venture Dare to Dream Experience. This was a magical moment - 38 years after I first started dreaming of writing books!

And this is by no means the end -I have Believe in progress and Act isn't far behind.

You can already buy Dare to Dream, at CHF15 (plus postage if required) - just contact me to arrange this.  It becomes your very own unique companion just as soon as you start writing in it!
If you're tempted by any of the Dare to Dream events - the Retreat, the three Dream, Believe, Act workshops or the workbook series - or by personal coaching to help you Dream, Believe, or take Action - please contact me on kirstin@alivetochange.com
