We love our yoga community and we like to show it! From May 4-15 we are offering FREE child minding for the 9:30am class on Monday, Wednesday and Friday! This is honour of Mother's Day so please spread the word to family and friends!
Also in honour of Mother's Day, we have brought back our 5 Class Bundles! Get 5 Classes for $55 - 1 year expiry - offer available to all, offer ends May 15th, no limit on how many you can purchase!

If you completed a 30 day Challenge earlier this year, the challenge hats and shirts are ready to be picked up at the front desk! Hats are for 20 days and shirts are for 30 days!

We were unable to host a community clothing swap during April so we will be hosting it Saturday
May 30th! Clean out your closet and bring in your good quality used clothes for some new pieces to add to your wardrobe.

Why do Yin Yoga?
 
 With a meditative approach and a deep physical focus, the practitioner is able to access the connective tissue and fascia.The postures often focus on areas that encompass a joint (hips, sacrum, spine) and as one ages, flexibility in the joints decreases. Yin yoga is a wonderful way to maintain that flexibility, something that many don't seem to be concerned about until they notice it is gone.
 
 
 
Some of the Benefits of a Yin Practice:
- Calms and balances the mind and body.
- Regulates energy in the body.
- Increases mobility in the body with lubrication and protection of the joints.
- Promotes deeper relaxation.  
- Aides in coping with stress and anxiety.
- Improves the yang practice
(bikram, flow, etc.)

At Bikram Yoga Sidney! 

Rajashree Choudhury and Emmy Cleaves are coming to Bikram Yoga Sidney! These two inspiring women are monumentally prolific in the Worldwide Yoga Community and will be leading a three day workshop on 

June 12, 13 and 14!  

 

All proceeds will be directly donated to the Not for Profit Wildnerness Conversancy.Founded by Bob Cleaves, this Anti-Poaching and Humanitarian organization aerially patrols various areas of South Africa. The Wilderness Conservancy works to maintain healthy Eco-systems in the region by protecting endangered species, such as the Black Rhino, and relocating wildlife to safe sanctuary.

Don Devenney Finishes 250Km Marathon in Sahara Desert 

Perhaps you know Don Devenney, and of his recent journey, but we want to share the news regarding his incredible feat! Don recently finished the 30th Sultan MdS  (Marathon des Sables), a long distance marathon that takes place across the Sahara Desert in South Morocco! The Discovery Channel ranks this as the "Toughest Footrace on Earth" and Don considers Bikram Yoga to be an essential element in his training and race preparation . Don's training included Bikram Yoga twice a week and running (while wearing a 25lb back pack) between 45 minutes to 4 hours a day. The annual marathon is executed over a 7 day period and is comprised of 6 "stages." Depending on the terrain, each stage of the race took Don approximately 9 -11 hours to complete. To show how truly amazing an accomplishment this is, here is a breakdown of each day!
Stage 1: Jebel Irhs / Oued Tijekht : 36.2 km
Stage 2: Oued Tijekht / Jebel El Otfal : 31.1 km
Stage 3:  Jebel El Otfal / Jebel Zireg : 36.7 km
Stage 4: Jebel Zireg / Jdaid : 91.7 km

Stage 5: Jdaid / Kourci Dial Zaid : 42.2 km
Stage 6: CHARITY UNICEF - 11.5 km

chronic tension. 

Jacqueline is pleased and excited to announce her return to this rewarding work. Prior to taking over the yoga studio in 2010 she worked for 10 years in clinics and out of her home studio one on one with clients in her Hellerwork Practice.
