How's it going with your goals for 2014 so far? Whether you are right on track or completely off the rails - at this point take a look, adjust accordingly and point yourself in the direction that brings the most joy. If your health and fitness goals need a boost your hot yoga practice can support whatever that involves. The yoga provides your body with the flexibility and resilience as you work to heal, strengthen, slim down - whatever the current plan may be. Plus it provides your mind the calm to enjoy the ride!

The BYW January 30 Day Challenge is wrapping up and it looks like many of our Challengers will be sporting a BYW Challenge shirt.  Everyone who completes at least 25 classes in 30 days will get entered into a draw for some awesome prizes: health and beauty treatments, a photo session, class cards, memberships, GC's to local businesses and more!  Good luck and stay strong,  you are almost done.

They say our attitudes control our lives. Attitudes are a secret force working 24 hours a day. It is really important to learn to harness and control this great force. Your yoga practice can be of service in this area of your life. Here are a few links to some great articles on the subject:

Warm Hatha Flow Class
  This is a 1 hour class and an effective way to build upper body and core strength. It is suitable for the beginner and is a
slightly cooler class.


Listen to the sound of your beating heart, the whisper of your breath and the power that is a group of people practicing together in silence.Our next silent class is 
Friday Feb 28th at 6pm.

This is a 90 minute hot yoga class. Please bring 2 large towels, a yoga mat if you have one and water.
Come well hydrated and with an empty stomach (highly recommended).

Drop in to this class for just $10.

BYW Yogaholics Tough Mudder 2014
You may have heard that we have put together a team for this year's Tough Mudder in Whistler.  Yes - it is true!!

We are training using the yoga, running and the circuits that have been recommended for the event.

Yin - Yang Yoga  
Sundays at BYW

 

 

Please note that effective February 23rd this class will be offered Sundays  

5:30pm  to 6:45pm

 

Yin Yoga is a perfect complement to the dynamic and muscular (yang) styles of yoga that emphasize internal heat, and the lengthening and contracting of our muscles. Yin Yoga targets the connective tissues of the hips,  

pelvis, and lower spine.

 

This class is  75 minutes. The room is cooled to a regular temperature and it is set to music.
