Some interesting things about the month of May:

The birthstone for May is the emerald which represents success or love.

The birth flower for May is the Lily of the Valley.

On May 1, 1931, the Empire State Building was officially opened.

Mother's Day - celebrated on the second Sunday of May.

Memorial Day - celebrated on the last Monday in May.

No other month begins or ends on the same day of the week as May in any year. January of the following year always begins and ends on the same day of the week as May of the current year.

April Showers of Blessings!

The month of April was filled with showers of blessings.

Easter week was one of the best we've had with many lives being transformed. The choir, musicians and drama team did an outstanding job.

Everything from the candlelight communion, to washing the saint's feet to Easter Sunday was fantastic! The presence and power of God was so real and evident in each service.

The addition of eleven new members was a real boost to our congregation.

The celebration of Pastor & 1st Lady Appreciation week was unforgettable from the video and testimonies on Wednesday evening, to meals shared as well as a golf outing.

Bishop Mark Albertino, pastor of the Taylorsville Church of God,  brought a very encouraging and timely message on "Servant Leadership".

Prime-Timers Trip

Our Prime-timers headed to the Great Smoky Mountains for the 25th Annual Jubilee April 28-30.

They were able to enjoy this year's Jubilee that featured:
  1. Kingsmen Quartet
  2. Raymond Culpepper
  3. Mercy's Road
  4. Brenda Wicker
  5. Leola Sellers
  6. The Churchmen
  7. Alabama
  8. Terrell Brinson
  9. James E Cossey

It was an unforgettable experience; they can't wait to go again next year!
