Magellan's Cultural Competency Department Will Host a Brown Bag Presentation
"An Introduction To Refugee Wellness"
Arizona is home to more than 60,000 refugees from 106 different countries around the world. Refugees shoulder a very high burden of PTSD, anxiety and depressive disorders and often do not have previous exposure to the concepts of mental and behavioral health. In this presentation , Zachary Holden, the State Refugee Health Coordinator for Arizona, will explain what a refugee is, what refugee behavioral health looks like, and give tips on working with refugee clients.
The presentation will take place Wednesday, Sept. 25, from 12:00 p.m. to 1:30 p.m., in Magellan's Camelback Conference Room at 4801 E. Washington Street, Phoenix, AZ 85034.

"Healthy Communities: Focus on Mental Health"
is a conversation that is taking place on Wednesday, Sept. 25, from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. in six locations around Arizona (see http://www.projectcivildiscourse.org/events-main/healthy-communities). This is part of the National Dialogue on Mental Health (see www.creatingcommunitysolutions.org).

In recognition of World Suicide Prevention Day (Sept. 10), the Arizona Department of Health Services/ Division of Behavioral Health Services (ADHS/DBHS) and Magellan Health Services of Arizona hosted a panel discussion on suicide prevention via webinar. Entitled "Closing the Gap to Zero Suicides," the webinar featured the following leaders in suicide prevention:
