Emerging Toronto artist Erica Brisson engages audiences in an exploration of public space, identity and community through drawing and urban interventions. Inspired by tourism information centres as well as the process of public consultation, Local Colour Info Centre sets up a social space where passersby can share their personal interpretations of the city's intentional or informal landmarks.

The award-winning Israeli documentary explores the relationship between Ben Peter and his 96-year old grandmother Miriam - the late photographer Rudi Weissenstein's 96-year-old widow - as they try to save Weissenstein's landmark photo studio in Tel Aviv from development. Screening followed by Q&A and soirée with Life in Stills star Ben Peter at the Victory Café.

A new installation of photographs at the Schwartz/Reisman Centre from the collection of the Ontario Jewish Archives (OJA). Many of the photographs on view - weightlifters, young potters at their wheels, badminton champions, a SCUBA-diving class, and leotard-clad children - celebrate the history of Toronto's JCCs from their earliest days in a small downtown building to today's thriving centres around the city. Polyester, Pattern, and Perms: Fashion and Hairstyles from the OJA Collection 

Lipa Green Centre, Sherman Campus, 4600 Bathurst St.
In celebration of the Ontario Jewish Archives upcoming 40th anniversary in 2013, there will be a series of changing exhibitions in cases around the Sherman Campus starting in November. Each exhibition provides an opportunity to explore a theme or story from the Archives' expansive collection. The first exhibition - Polyester, Pattern, and Perms: Fashion and Hairstyles from the OJA Collection - presents photos from the 1960s through the 1970s. Full details here.
