OUR BAGS ARE PACKED...

This month, there is no better place for the Divas to be than at the National Association of Senor Move Managers' Conference in Orlando, Florida.

OK, it also helps that the temperature in Florida is a bit warmer than it is right now in Toronto and there is NO SNOW!

We have some great news to share with you...

NASMM CONFERENCE:

We are thrilled to be attending the NASMM "Magic of Mastery" Conference from February 26 - March 1 right at Disney World! This year, a record SEVEN Divas and ONE Divo will be representing Downsizing Diva and the purple feathers will be flyin'!!!

NASMM A+ ACCREDITATION:

  NASMM A+

This year, Downsizing Diva Toronto East + North York is honoured to received the coveted NASMM A+ Accreditation, the highest level of professional achievement awarded to a Senior Move Management Company for best practices, client service and business management.

We are the only Canadian company to attain NASMM A+ designation and we are very proud of this achievement.

MOVING AHEAD... by reaching out!

The Caregiver Show We have been asked to present "MOVING  AHEAD...by reaching out!", a workshop in which we share our experiences with community projects. Our main topic of discussion will be The Caregiver Show, created in partnership with Metroland Media, to be held at Centennial Athelic & Wellness Centre on Saturday, May 30th.

As they say, enough about us...what about you?

Time for the Minimizing Challenge...

Downsizing or minimizing...both actions ultimately lead to simplifying your life; the term minimizing may seem less threatening.

Explore the concept of minimizing by reducing the number of items you have in the following seven categories:

  1. KITCHEN SUPPLIES: How many baking pans do you need? Or spices? Look at the serving dishes you have and commit to keeping just the ones you use the most. Do you own more than one set of good china? Why?
  1. MAGAZINES: Limit your collection to the previous three months of a subscription. Or cancel a subscription you no longer read. Or subscribe online?
  1. PAPER PRODUCTS: Paper towels, toilet paper and facial tissue purchases are usually made because they are on sale. But this stuff takes up so much space! Wait until there are only TWO items left in the cupboard before buying more... paper products are always on sale somewhere!
  1. LOTIONS, POTIONS, SOAP and SHAMPOO: If everyone in your house needs their own special product, that's one thing. But, you can create more space for necessities when you don't stock-pile these items.
  1. KNICKNACKS: Too much of a good thing is just... too much! With fewer treasures on display, you will appreciate those you can see even more.
  1. LINENS: Resist the urge to buy more towels and sheet sets than you need. As a rule, have one set to use plus a spare set. Use the "one-in-one out" organizing rule and give old towels to the Humane Society or local animal shelter.
  1. SHOES: Ok, this one might be tricky! Some people can let go of shoes and others can't. I'm just saying... you will have more room in your closets IF you let go of some of those shoes!

Don't agonize...MINIMIZE!

Downsizing Diva is on a mission to make a positive difference in the lives of Seniors who are downsizing and moving.
