NASMM Conference 2013

Life-Long Learning Continues...

We love events and activities that challenge us to stay current. In January, we were thrilled to participate in two events relating to the work we do and to our clients:

NASMM - National Association of Senior Move Managers:

Purple feathers were flyin' at the National Association of Senior Move Managers Conference in January in beautiful St. Pete Beach, Florida.

We were inspired by Janine Driver who taught us all about body language
and Dr. Bill Thomas who challenges the conventional view on aging.

Check out Dr. Thomas' blog - http://changingaging.org - and his philosophy:

"We believe aging is a strength, rich in developmental potential

and growth. We welcome anyone who is interested in changing

aging, whether you're an elder, youngster or just trying to figure out

what comes after adulthood."

We were also Presenters at this Conference and our "Build-a-Brand" workshop
was well received by our colleagues. It was another "Diva Laugh-and-Learn"
and we left participants with challenges to think about as they continued to build
their own brands.

ALZHEIMER WALK FOR MEMORIES:

The Saturday morning indoor walk was fabulous; we were inspired with the wonderful people we met and the stories they told. We were thrilled to be part
of an event that raised over $ 620,000 to increase awareness and support for
people living with Alzheimer's and other related dementias.
Thanks to all of our Sponsors for believing in us... and the cause!

TOP SECRET Upcoming Event:

All we can say, at the moment, is we are moving forward to create something fabulous! This "event" will take place on Wednesday, May 14th, 2014 and will reflect our focus on Life-long Learning!
As one of our pals says.... "STAND-BY!"

HEY, GOTTA MINUTE?

Actually 20 minutes?

Here we are in February and, if you are like many of us, your January 1st good intentions have flown out the window!!

Moving hearts

Usually our Newsletter is sent our on the FIRST Tuesday of each month, but we had a rather unusual few weeks - so, here we are, sending out the Newsletter on February 14th.

Our advice for anyone wanting to start a downsizing or organizing project is to START SMALL, BUT START TODAY.

Since there are only 15 more days left in the month, here are FIFTEEN Diva suggestions to get you started:

Small heart  Clean out under your bathroom sink(s). Sort, purge, replace.

Check all light fixtures and replace burnt-out bulbs with energy-efficient bulbs.

Be a generous giver and fill a box with gently-used clothing for

       your favourite charity.

Re-pot or refresh indoor plants and give them a new lease on life.

Remove items from horizontal surfaces in one room; replace with things

you love and donate the rest.

Small heart Pay monthly bills and reconcile your Cheque Books.

Small heart SNAP - SNAP - Update family photos in frames around the house.

Small heart Find a junk drawer and de-junk it!

Small heart Keep the cleaning supplies you use regularly. Dispose of the rest responsibly.

Small heart Go through clothes closets. Keep only items that make you feel fabulous!

Small heart Sharpen all the pencils in the house; make sure all pens are working!

Small heart Clean your refrigerator and get rid of items that are unrecognizable.

Small heart Clean your cutlery drawer. Toss anything that is rusty, broken or totally useless!

Small heart Remove everything from the cabinet under the sink. Sort, purge and replace.

Small heart Organize the top shelf in the front hall closet.

Diva Thought for February:

It's the little details that are vital.
Little things make big things happen.
