Dear AISK Parents and Students, 

NEW ELEMENTARY SCHOOL PRINCIPAL 
 
It gives AISK great pleasure to announce Jason Ferris as the new Elementary School Principal starting August 2014.

 

Jason's Details:
Nationality: Canadian
9 years in administration of schools
3 years previous experience in Elementary Music and Physical Education

 

Master's Degree: McGill University/ Educational Leadership
Bachelor's Degrees in Music Education and Human Kinetics
Contract Term: 3 years -  starting August 1, 2014

 

He is married with one daughter Eva, who will be in Grade 4.  His wife, Monique, will serve the school as needed in the role of an educational assistant to students.

 

The panel who conducted the interview of Jason:

Two interviews were held one week apart, and Jason's skill set and communication talents shone through.  In total, there were 32 applicants for the position, 6 candidates were interviewed with two being short listed for second interviews.  

 

In Jason's biographical information, he states that effective school leadership is an integral part of a school community.  His focus is always on making everyone in the building feel welcome and important through accessibility, effective communication, energy and a sense of humor.

Dear AISK Families,

 

RENAISSANCE FAIR

 

Our Grade 9 students put on a Renaissance Fair for the AISK community on Friday morning and below are some photos of them and their work.  This was part of their culminating assessment for their unit of work on the Renaissance and the vibe and student energy was outstanding.  

 

They presented to parents, peers, elementary school students and faculty and it was evident that they were well prepared and had thought carefully about their characters and the history.

 

Congratulations to Mr. Steve Negrete and the Grade 9 classes for an inspiring start to Friday.
