News of Note:

 
1.  R&C closed two more RAD transactions, totaling 8 RAD closings since the program's inception last year.  Read more about our RAD Rome, NY and Hopewell, VA closings.
 
2.  Tax Extenders Renewed: The Senate Finance Committee approved the Expiring Provisions Improvement Reform and Efficiency (EXPIRE) Act, which would extend the minimum 9% Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) rate through the end of 2015, include a minimum 4% LIHTC rate for affordable housing acquisition and extend the New Markets Tax Credit through 2015.  Details can be found here
 
3.  Deadline Extended to May 14th for Revised Section 8 Renewal Policy Guide Comments. See HUD's guidance for renewing expiring Section 8 contracts in the  draft revised Section 8 Renewal Policy Guide. Public comments identifying the section number, page, and paragraph number are due May 14, 2014.
