News of Note:
1. R&C Closed the First RAD-FHA Transaction in the Country. R&C represented the Southern Nevada Regional Housing Authority (SNRHA) and its instrumentality in this transaction involving the $23.5 million rehabilitation and conversion of 100 former public housing units to RAD units. The housing authority's instrumentality served as its own developer in this transaction financed by an FHA loan, acquisition and rehabilitation loans from the City of Henderson and SNRHA, and two bond issuances. R&C worked closely with the SNRHA, the City of Henderson, lenders, investors, and FHA and HUD, both at headquarters and the field and regional offices, to negotiate and close this complex transaction.
2. HUD is soliciting comments for the Small Multifamily Building Risk Share Initiative's proposed application requirements, the application process, participant eligibility, and program design features. Comments due January 3, 2014.
3. PIH 2013-28: Guidance to PHAs on the Use of Outside Sources of Funds for Housing Assistance Payments (HAP) expenses in the Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) Program.4. HUD's 2014 Income Limits Data. 6. Allocations, Waivers, and Alternative Requirements for Grantees receiving CDBG Disaster Recovery Funds in response to Disasters occurring in 2013.
