News of Note:

    
1.  2013 Capital Fund Processing Information: including the 2013 Letter to Executive Directors, 2013 Capital Fund Program Timeline, and 2013 ACC Amendments.

  

2.   President Obama issued his administration's second-term housing agenda, which includes initiatives such as: helping responsible families refinance while mortgage rates are still low; executive action to cut red tape so responsible families can get a mortgage; fixing the immigration system to increase home values; creating and preserving affordable rental housing by passing a bipartisan Senate proposal; reforming Fair Housing Finance (GSE) to put private capital at the center and, thus, ending Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac; ensuring access to 30-year fixed-rate mortgages; and imploring Congress to confirm Mel Watt as FHFA Director. 

  

3.  HUD and the U.S. Treasury released the July edition of the Obama Administration's Housing Scorecard-a report on the housing market-which shows key indicators of progress as home prices, purchases of new homes, and sales of existing homes continue to show strong annual gain.
