News of Note:

1.  HUD issued the new HOME rule which amends the HOME regulations to address operational challenges facing participating jurisdictions, particularly challenges related to recent housing market conditions and the alignment of federal housing programs.

2.  HUD released its proposed rule on fair housing to further the purposes of the Fair Housing Act by refining existing requirements with a fair housing assessment and planning process that will better aid HUD program participants in fulfilling this statutory obligation and addressing specific comments the GAO raised.  HUD will provide data on patterns of integration and serration to states, local governments, insular areas and PHAs to facilitate this new approach.

3.  The Council of Large Public Housing Authorities (CLPHA)'s Comparative Funding Chart for FY14 compares Final and Post-Sequestration funding levels for FY13 with CLPHA Request, HUD Request, House Committee and Senate Committee FY14 funding levels.
