Reno & Cavanaugh Welcomes Four New Attorneys, Sarah Molseed is Named a Member
R&C is pleased to announce that Cynthia Langelier Paine and George L. Weidenfeller have joined the firm's Washington, D.C. office, focusing their practices on affordable housing and economic development. Previously, both were attorneys with Goulston & Storrs. Cynthia and George reunite with N. Linda Goldstein, who joined the firm in November from Goulston & Storrs. Additionally, James T. Massey joins the firm as Of Counsel; and Sarah Molseed is named a Member.
Cynthia and George, along with Linda, bring deep experience incorporating government housing and economic development incentives into private sector real estate projects. Cynthia and George represent clients with development and rehabilitation of multifamily affordable properties and larger-scale, mixed-income, mixed-use, multifamily/commercial projects. They also advise businesses involved in energy-related initiatives and those seeking to acquire HUD and Enterprise-owned single-family homes (REO).

Cynthia Langelier Paine brings to the firm experience in all aspects of real estate law, including acquisition, financing and debt restructuring, and has advised non-profit clients and for-profit developers regarding the preservation of affordable housing. She will continue to advise clients with respect to the low-income housing tax credit and new markets tax credit programs.

George L. Weidenfeller has a long and distinguished history in government-subsidized housing and economic development, having served for more than 15 years as Deputy General Counsel at the Department of Housing and Urban Development. Since leaving HUD, George has provided HUD regulatory guidance relating to owners, developers, lenders, managers, and entities of local government.

N. Linda Goldstein began her career in the 1970s in the Office of the General Counsel (FHA multifamily program division) at HUD and has worked as a housing and economic development attorney representing clients throughout the country for more than 30 years. Linda counsels clients undertaking revitalization of older affordable housing properties and those developing larger-scale urban renewal projects.

As Of Counsel at R&C, James T. Massey brings more than 25 years' federal regulatory and litigation practice to the team. Jim also has significant experience in real estate and land use law, as both lawyer and developer, and in agricultural credit and production matters. He will represent clients engaged in disputes with governmental agencies and in the substantive areas of commercial credit, real estate development, land use and agricultural law. He will also represent organizations and groups on matters of federal legislative and regulatory policy. Jim's litigation experience helps expand R&C's services, while his federal regulatory, real estate and land use practice further supports R&C's comprehensive real estate, affordable housing, policy and commercial finance law offerings.

We are pleased to announce that, on January 1st, Sarah Molseed was elevated to Member status. Sarah has a strong foundation in public housing administrative and regulatory issues as well as complex development transactions. She also specializes in working with housing authorities undertaking large redevelopment efforts-many that are either self-developing or have little or no experience with public housing redevelopment. Sarah brings leadership, tenacity and dedication to these representations, working with clients to help build capacity as well as accomplish the development objectives.
