Drowning in e-mail?

Start with these tips:
1. Decide what are the three most important reasons you need e-mail (eg. manage client relationships, discuss intra-office projects, schedule meetings).

2. When you're having a busy week, month, or season of life, DELETE almost everything that doesn't fall into your three categories. The rest is "nice to know."

Before & After: Creating more closet space with a simple and affordable solution

Closet after
AFTER Laura Ray Organizing

Here's the situation: The homeowner had clothes in three different closets, which resulted in frustration and excess clothing. There was no clear definition as to what clothes ended up in which closet, except for formalwear. The clothes were not organized by season, so it looked like there were many choices in the closet when there weren't. In addition, the closet space was not being used efficiently.

Client: Single working woman

How solved:

  1. Grouped like items according to type, season and when worn (casual, work, formal).
  2. Installed affordable closet systems with more hanging space and/or shelves for all closets. With the luxury of space, made one closet for work clothes, one for all other clothes, and a third closet for her dream accessories closet (see article below).
  3. Stored out of season clothes and less worn accessories in containers on the top shelves.

Why organize your closet? If your closet makes you feel frustrated, then that is the way you are starting your day. If your closet makes you feel great and in control, then what a fantastic way to start the day. In addition, an organized closet helps speed up your morning routine by saving time and simplifying life.

Fast fact: We wear 20 percent of our clothes 80 percent of the time.

How to do it yourself: When cleaning out your closet ask yourself: Do I wear it? Do I love it?

If you dream of an accessories closet -- an affordable one dedicated to all your shoes and handbags -- it could happen. Imagine it all in one easy-to-use space. If this would make you happy, read on.
It's possible if you have an extra closet, even if it's a linen closet. (Keep linens in the rooms where they are used.) And, it's affordable with wire shelves hung close together with just enough room for shoes (extra room is needed for boots). The pink drawers pictured can hold purses and more.
Tip: Lay all your shoes on the floor side by side and measure how many inches they take up. Then, determine how many shelves you can fit in the closet, how many inches each shelf would be, and whether there is room to fit most or all of your shoes.

A Lesson from the Lawrence Puppies
by Sandy Lawrence, Inspirational Speaker, www.realintouch.com

How might we flourish if we would only act like little puppies?

Back in 2008, my life changed drastically. Two precious children came into our life . . . puppies actually. That winter I gained a new perspective on collaboration, dependence and interdependence. I watched these precious furry gifts from God play, eat, play, sleep, explore, and pretty much do everything in blissful, trusting, loving dependence. . . Read more.
