Happy June!

I suspect that I'm not alone in in thinking that the Volvo Ocean Race brought an early summer to Newport. The spectacular stopover really started the sailing season with a bang! Thanks and kudos to EVERYONE who had the vision and determination to bring this event to Newport.

I was lucky enough to be on a photo boat to shoot the start of Leg 7, (departing Newport > Lisbon). As I looked ahead at the race boats getting smaller in the distance, then turned back to see the tremendous spectator fleet behind us I was left with goosebumps and pondering two thoughts:
  •  Isn't it  incredible what we can do as a community when we all work together toward a shared goal?
  • In what other ways, toward what new goal, shall we ALL join forces to create the next remarkable thing?

Let's hope that the rest of the season can measure up and in the meantime, if you'd like to see my photos of that fantastic day, please visit this SnApS gallery.
