lemonade... good news from newport

may 2014

SallyAnne Santos
Happy May!

Welcome to the 60th issue of lemonade, if I did the math correctly, that makes this our 5 year anniversary of sharing good news from Newport! Let me see, the traditional 5th anniversary gift is wood and / or silverware. Hmmm... seems to me a new guitar would fit that description and I've had my eye on a beautiful Gibson Hummingbird... ah, but back to earth now... This month we'll keep the focus on music and sailing, two great joys in life!

 and if you please...

Alfred Hitchock + the Importance of Professional Website Design
Even though Alfred Hitchcock didn't live to see the invention of our modern day Internet, he can teach us a great deal about the importance of professional website design. For those not familiar (perish the thought!) according to Wikipedia: "
Sir Alfred Joseph Hitchcock, KBE (1899-1980) was an English film director and producer. He pioneered many techniques in the suspense and psychological thriller genres." His iconic films include Psycho, Rear Window, The Birds, North by Northwest and Vertigo to name a few. Hitch was an absolute master at getting and holding the rapt attention of his audience by carefully framing each shot for maximum visual impact; his story-lines were closely written revealing just the right amount of information at the right time. By combining these two techniques, he kept theatre-goers on the edge of their seats. Today, businesses vying for attention on the Internet can take a frame or two from his reel... read more.
