library time When was the last time that you visited our Newport Public Library? If it's been a while, you may be surprised to learn about the many diverse, FREE events offered each month. Among the November highlights are a Film Noir Matinee Series featuring Out of the Past on 11/6 and Kiss Me Deadly on 11/20. The Annual Holiday Book Sale from 11/2-11/5 is a great place to start shopping for everyone on your list while supporting the Library. The Friends Book Store has great gifts including DVDs, puzzles and games as well as books of course! (Donations and volunteers are needed to help staff the bookstore, sort and price books, help at special sales and other fund raising events. If you can lend a hand call 401-847-8720 ext 100 to sign up.) On 11/17, the Library's Musical Sunday Series features finger-style guitar picking by Ken Bonfield who combines an informative narrative about the history of the guitar style, with his renditions of traditional folk songs.
