Happy Spring!

Welcome to the April issue lemonade. When the weather cooperates this is the perfect time of year to get out and enjoy the great outdoors on Aquidneck Island before the influx of seasonal visitors. This month will feature many tried and true along with several exciting new events. My hope is that each of you is able to enjoy as many of them as possible!

Have you heard yet? Norey's Bar & Grille on Broadway is now featuring live Americana, Blues, Jazz and Bluegrass music every Wednesday evening starting at 8:30pm. Among the performers slated for April are: Lisa Mills on 4/10 & 4/17 and Tumbling Bones on 4/24. The Narrow's Center for the Arts schedule is jam packed this month with Heather Maloney, Joe Fletcher and the Wrong Reasons on 4/6, Los Lobos on 4/10, Entrain on 4/12, Robert Cray on 4/15, Janiva Magness on 4/19 and Bettye LaVette on 4/21. AND, Mr. Bob Dylan will be playing at URI's Ryan Center on 4/8, with opening act Dawes-- at time of press a few tickets were still available.

WMVY is back on the Newport airwaves!

Among the terrific films showing at the Jane Pickens Theater & Event Center this month are the Stevie Nicks documentary: In Your Dreams on 4/2 and Exhibition: Manet, Royal Academy of Arts London. On 4/8 The Newport Historical Society presents a Library Workshop which will acquaint participants with NHS resources and how they may bed accessed to research the history of your Newport house family or neighborhood. Call 846-0813 to make a reservation, which is required for this event. The Newport Public Library is screening Anna Karenina on 4/12 at 2:30pm. NewportFILM will celebrate Earth Day on 4/22 with a screening of the film Elemental at 6pm at the Jane Pickens.
