Amistad
The Newport Historical Society's exhibit "Broadsides: Diversions & Entertainments in 19th Century Newport" continues through 1/31. Amistad, will be the Tennis Hall of Fame's featured film at their Movie Night at the Casino Theatre on 1/18. For those who have not yet seen it, this 1997 Oscar-nominated historical drama by Steven Spielberg, starring Morgan Freeman and Anthony Hopkins features many recognizable scenes of our little old City-by-the-Sea. Those living in Newport during that time will remember the "big scene" filming in Washington Square. (Advance reservations are recommended for this event.)
