lemonade... good news from newport

november 2012

SallyAnne Santos

Hi Everyone!

Welcome to the November issue of lemonade! Today we have many reasons to be thankful, including how relatively well Newport fared versus Hurricane Sandy, thankful that we have the right to vote, and thankful that the election season will soon be over!

So in this month that features Thanksgiving, let's focus not just on giving thanks, but also on giving back. I'll offer a few suggestions in this newsletter, but we are surrounded by good causes and the charity options are endless. It's easy, just find one that is meaningful to you and give whatever you can.

Thank YOU!

For I Knew A Ship From Stem to Stern... will be presented by the Newport Historical Society  at the Colony House on 11/15. Then on 11/16, hear  Ken Read and Louis Marioenzi: From Sea to Summit, Life Lessons From the Volvo Ocean Race to Summiting Mount Everest. This lecture, which will be held at St. Michael's Country Day School Hill House & Athletic Center, starts at 6pm. It is free and open to the public, but reservations are strongly recommended. And don't miss my favorite annual holiday waterfront happening-- the Newport Harbor Holiday Boat Parade, held this year on Friday, 11/23 (day after Thanksgiving) starting at 6:15pm.
