Academics and Administration

2016-17 Class Registration Begins Next Week.
Students will receive registration forms on Wednesday, Feb. 10, and will work with teachers and Guided Study advisers to register by Feb. 19 for four (4) core classes, two (2) electives, and two (2) alternate electives.  We encourage parents to talk with their students about course selections. Around spring break, we will send verification sheets home to allow parents and students to double-check course selections.  Keep in mind that Brookwood has yearlong scheduling and that course selections will encompass both fall and spring semesters. 

Register for AP Exams by March 8. 
Visit MyPaymentsPlus to pay the one-time, non-refundable $10 registration fee. The first exam is free; each additional exam is $92. 

Monday Math Tutoring
On most Mondays, members from our Mu Alpha Theta Math Honor Society provide free math help at any level, from Algebra I to AP Calculus. Come to B30 after school this month on Feb. 15, 22 and 29.

Maxwell School of Technology to Visit BHS

Dual Enrollment/MOWR: Summer, Fall 2016
Parent Presentation - Feb. 22, 7 p.m. in The Commons. To participate in dual enrollment, students must take the SAT or ACT and meet admissions requirements and deadlines. See Dual Enrollment

Brookwood Community School SAT Prep 
Led by teachers Mr. Kling and Mr. Michael, the 6-session course costs $94. See this flyer for details. 

Cornerstone Academic is offering free practice tests for the new SAT on Feb. 6 and March 19 at several Gwinnett County high schools. Register online or call (404) 919-7227.

Total Learning Concepts is offering practice tests of the NEW SAT or ACT on Feb. 23 at 4 p.m. A $40 fee (refunded as a TLC gift certificate) covers testing, results and a consultation. For a reservation, call 770-381-5958 or email tlcaa@bellsouth.net.

All Seniors Must Pay Graduation Fees
On Thursday, Feb. 18, Balfour representatives will return to The Commons during lunch to collect $100 grad fees from seniors who have not yet paid (cash or money order or check payable to Balfour).

2016-17 ENROLLMENT/AUDITIONS

Chorus Class Enrollment 
Students who are not enrolled in Chorus and are interested in joining next year should see Mrs. Peeples in the Chorus Room after school on Feb. 10 or 11. Questions? Stop by or send her an email.

Dance Department Auditions 
Monday Feb. 8, in Dance Room D6, 2:30-4 p.m. No experience needed! Wear dance clothes or tight fitting exercise clothes. The Dance Department is also looking for rising senior boys to join Theater Dance. No audition required; see Miss Ellen in D6.
