Our new Big Board went live in The Commons this week with messages about our Upstander program
 and grade-level Big Board Challenge that urges students to "C.A.R.E." about Citizenship, Advocacy, Respect and Engagement. Students earn points, prizes and featured photos for being upstanders throughout the semester.

College Fair for Grades 9-12
Wednesday, Feb. 3, during lunch in the Gold Gym. There will be no Academic Intervention on this day so that all students have the chance to visit with representatives from 57 colleges and universities (2-year, 4-year and technical schools, in-state and out-of-state, public and private).

Register for AP testing by March 8. All students registering must pay a one-time, non-refundable $10 fee. The first exam is free, and each additional exam is $92. Visit MyPaymentsPlus.com to register. 

Students taking Spanish
Register by Jan. 27 for the National Spanish Exam. Pay $6 on MyPaymentsPlus under the Testing tab.

C2 Education SAT Tutorial for BHS Students
SAT Tutorial sessions will be held Feb. 9 - March 3. Register at MyPaymentsPlus under the SCHOOL FEES section and select your student's corresponding Guide Study period. While there, click the blue DETAILS link for a full description. The fee is $20, and the course will be taught at BHS during the school day by C2 Education instructors. Enrollment requires a 4-hour pre-assessment taken by Jan. 29.

Brookwood Community School SAT Prep Course
 Led by BHS teachers Mr. Kling and Mr. Michael. The 6-session course costs $94 and includes an official SAT test book. See this flyer for details. 

Cornerstone Academic is offering free practice tests for the new SAT at no charge on Jan. 23, Jan. 30, Feb. 6, and March 19 at several Gwinnett County high schools. Register online or call (404) 919-7227.

Total Learning Concepts is offering full-length practice NEW SAT or ACT testing on Tuesday, Feb. 23, at 4 p.m. The $40 fee (refunded as a TLC gift certificate at the end of the process) covers testing, scoring, a detailed printed results report and in-person consultation. ASVAB Registration
Friday, Feb. 5, during periods 1-4, we will administer the Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery. The ASVAB is free and measures vocational aptitudes and career strengths. You do not have to be interested in the military to register. Sign up in A1.

Miss Brookwood Scholarship Pageant
Saturday, Jan. 30, 7 p.m. in BHS Theater. Tickets will be sold Wednesday, Jan. 27, in The Commons before 1st period. Any remaining tickets will be sold the mornings of Thursday and Friday, Jan. 28 and 29. Tickets are $15 (cash only) and limited to five per person. No ticket sales the night of the pageant.

Yearbook Staff 2016-17 Applications

Philanthropy Highlight


Brookwood FBLA is sponsoring a Penny War, now through Feb. 3 during all lunch periods. The competition benefits the March of Dimes and is part of the new Big Board Challenge.
