A MESSAGE FROM PRINCIPAL FORD

Greetings!

The mind, body and soul of Brookwood are strong.

We continue celebrating our score of 92.8 for the College and Career Readiness Performance Index, which measures our students' content mastery, post high school readiness and graduation rate. Our score is highest in Gwinnett County and third in the state among traditional public high schools. Because we boast a stellar AP program, Georgia has again recognized us as an AP Honor School, this year in four categoriesAP Merit, AP STEM, AP STEM Achievement and the newest category, AP Humanities. Additionally, Brookwood also leads Gwinnett in dual enrollment, with 96 of our students concurrently earning credit in the college setting.

Our Bronco athletes and performers continue bringing home championship titles and recognitions for our school. This winter, we again sent students to state championships, and this spring we expect them to earn trophies and medals as well. See below how our swimmers and wrestlers performed at their state competitions.

The hearts at Brookwood are tenacious when it comes to serving the community. We are already at $57,898 in our $100K Challenge to charity with almost a full spring season ahead of us. From a few hundred dollars from Friday morning hot chocolate sales to more than $8,000 from our dance marathon, we have found ways to encourage a lot people to give for a good cause. We have also received donations from generous companies like Delta Community Credit Union, which we have in turn donated to charitable groups. Beginning next week, we will launch a Goodwill Donation Drive, and later in the month, we will host a Sadie Hawkins dance to benefit Relay for Life. While many of our events are fun and inspiring, I recognize that they demand time and energy. To everybody who has contributed to our campaigns, I would like thank you again. Keep up the giving spirit and servant leadership, Brookwood. It is good for the mind, body and soul.

Go Broncos!

William Bo Ford, Jr.
